Africa Education Watch has called out the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaSIA), the implementing agency for the National Pre-Tertiary Learning Assessment Framework (NPLAF), and the Ministry of Education over the omission of Private Schools in the maiden edition of the National Standardized Test (NST).<\/p>\n
The education think tank seems quite baffled by authorities\u2019 decision to go contrary to the National Pre-Tertiary Learning Assessment Framework (NPLAF) by leaving out private schools from partaking in the examination.<\/p>\n
\u201cAre we implementing the current NPLAF or a different document? Is it the case that the NPLAF has been reviewed to exclude Private Schools?<\/p>\n
\u201cDo we realize we have denied the National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA) of critical national baseline data on private schools\u2019 literacy and numeracy levels in P4?\u201d<\/p>\n
It, therefore, wants authorities to explain the reason for the exemption of private schools.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaSIA), the implementing agency for the National Pre-Tertiary Learning Assessment Framework (NPLAF) and the Ministry of Education must properly explain to Ghanaians why Private Schools were omitted from the just-ended National Standardized Test (NST), contrary to (NPLAF).\u201d<\/p>\n
The National Standardized test was conducted for primary four pupils for the first time on December 17, 2021, as a means of building a robust educational system, and will also assess the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values as part of the new pre-tertiary education curriculum.<\/p>\n
The examination which was to be undertaken by both private and public primary 4 pupils was undertaken by only public schools students.<\/p>\n
