{"id":739044,"date":"2022-01-07T11:34:15","date_gmt":"2022-01-07T11:34:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/07\/israel-to-lift-travel-ban-on-8-countries\/"},"modified":"2022-01-07T11:34:15","modified_gmt":"2022-01-07T11:34:15","slug":"israel-to-lift-travel-ban-on-8-countries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/07\/israel-to-lift-travel-ban-on-8-countries\/","title":{"rendered":"Israel to lift travel ban on 8 countries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/e5a6b9da-b1a1-56db-a0fe-6a56c3e1bed4&#038;operation=CROP&#038;offset=0x23&#038;resize=846x476.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<div><!--sse--><\/p>\n<p>Tel Aviv &#8211; Israel is set to lift the travel ban to eight countries as the Covid-19 positivity rate among the arrivals from these nations has dipped, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The eight countries are the United Arab Emirates, the US, Ethiopia, Britain, Tanzania, Mexico, Switzerland and Turkey, reports Xinhua news agency.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The move, subject to the approval of the cabinet and a parliamentary committee, is expected to take effect on Friday, according to the Ministry.<\/p>\n<p>By doing so, Israel will scrap the list of countries labelled &#8220;red&#8221; to which it banned its citizens from flying.<\/p>\n<p>The decision came as a result of the government policy, according to which the &#8220;red&#8221; country outline will be suspended as the number of people tested positive for Covid-19 upon arrival falls below five percent of the total patients.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"RelatedArticlescss__StyledRelatedArticles-sc-10g88yu-0 ezIKFV\">\n<h2><span>MORE ON THIS<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Accordingly, vaccinated and recovered passengers arriving in Israel from all countries will have to enter quarantine of up to 24 hours, until a negative coronavirus test result is obtained.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Unvaccinated arrivals must have to enter a seven-day quarantine and receive two negative tests: one upon arrival, and one after seven days of quarantine.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, the country announced it will admit foreigners with presumed Covid-19 immunity from countries deemed medium-risk next week, partially reversing a ban imposed in late November in response to the fast-spreading Omicron variant.<\/p>\n<p><!--\/sse--><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tel Aviv &#8211; Israel is set to lift the travel ban to eight countries as the Covid-19 positivity rate among the arrivals from these nations has dipped, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
