{"id":738703,"date":"2022-01-07T05:33:41","date_gmt":"2022-01-07T05:33:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/07\/observe-directive-on-doom-prophecies-throughout-the-year-police-tell-prophets\/"},"modified":"2022-01-07T05:33:41","modified_gmt":"2022-01-07T05:33:41","slug":"observe-directive-on-doom-prophecies-throughout-the-year-police-tell-prophets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/07\/observe-directive-on-doom-prophecies-throughout-the-year-police-tell-prophets\/","title":{"rendered":"Observe directive on doom prophecies throughout the year \u2013 Police tell Prophets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"article-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/15983657.295.jpg\" alt=\"File Photo: Ghana Police Service\" title=\"File Photo: Ghana Police Service\" width=\"295\" height=\"295\" \/> <span class=\"image_caption\"><span>File Photo: Ghana Police Service<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"-webkit-user-select: none; -webkit-touch-callout: none; -moz-user-select: none; -ms-user-select: none; user-select: none;\">\n<p style=\"clear:right\" id=\"article-123\"><b>Police to haul doom prophecy offenders before the courts<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Nigel Gaisie, Owusu Bempah, others &#8216;dodge&#8217; Police directive with muted prophecies<\/p>\n<p>Ghanaians applaud police for sanitizing prophecy space<\/p>\n<p>The Ghana Police Service has issued a stern warning to men of God to continuously observe the \u201cban\u201d on prophecies that could potentially cause fear and panic amongst the populace.<\/p>\n<p>It will be recalled that the police service in a statement ahead of last year\u2019s 31st December watch night services, urged prophets and pastors of the Gospel not to make any untoward prophecies.<\/p>\n<p>According to the police, though it notes that Ghanaians have the right to free speech, such rights must be exercised in accordance to the country\u2019s laws.<\/p>\n<p>In a subsequent statement by the police on further clarification on its earlier statement, the service has stated that the ban on \u2018doom\u2019 prophecies applies even beyond 31st December.<\/p>\n<p>It has therefore urged prophets of the Gospel to continuously observe the ban, failure which the relevant sanctions will be applied to culprits.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would like to caution that, the law on publication of information including prophecies that have the tendency to cause fear and panic or put people\u2019s lives in danger, is not limited to 31st December only, but should be adhered to on a daily basis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wish to reiterate that the law and the police are not against religious practices of the performance of religious doctrines and beliefs such as prophecies.
