It\u2019s the #YearOfRoads,\u201d he briefly stated.<\/p>\n<p>Describing the year as a \u201cboom in road sector\u201d, he disclosed that nine highways, seven bridges and five interchanges will be constructed.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Roads, roads and more roads. It\u2019s the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/YearOfRoads?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#YearOfRoads<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/GJp3UTJjw8\">pic.twitter.com\/GJp3UTJjw8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Nana Akufo-Addo (@NAkufoAddo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NAkufoAddo\/status\/1478728097511915521?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 5, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the Ministry of Highways, the government will commence work on nine new major roads projects in parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p>The Akufo-Addo led government will also \u201ccomplete many others that are at advanced stages of completion,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p>In January last year, the President committed to bridging the road infrastructure deficit in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Declaring 2021 as the second year of roads, he pledged to prioritize road construction to ensure that a significant number of kilometres across the country are tarred.<\/p>\n<p>He admitted that \u201cthere are still many more kilometres to construct,\u201d hence the government\u2019s consistent efforts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe defined last year as the year of roads; this year [2021] will be the second year of roads.
