The Speaker of Parliament for the republic of Ghana Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has disclosed that he was fast asleep when the members of parliament turns the parliament into a boxing ring over the E-levy on 20th December 2021.<\/p>\n
On the 20th of December, 2021 The parliamentarians of Ghana clashed over the approval of the introduction of the new E-levy.<\/p>\n
Based on what Alban Bagbin stated, he only woke up to see it all over social media. Giving an account of how he saw it, Alban Bagbin told the host on Moomeen Tonight\u2019s show on State-run GBC that he left after a long day and after failing to get the Majority side to table the Bill for consideration.<\/p>\n
\u201cI left Parliament after I sent my closing remarks for the day, that\u2019s the session, through my usher to the First Deputy Speaker. So I have given notice I will not be around to read my closing remarks and I left for my house”, <\/strong>he said.<\/p>\n According to Alban Bagbin, he left for the house, switch off his phone and slept before the honourable members dishonoured themselves in the house.<\/p>\n “Because I was so tired, later I put off my phone and fell in the bed and slept.
