{"id":737323,"date":"2022-01-06T10:08:27","date_gmt":"2022-01-06T10:08:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/06\/sammy-awuku-offers-lady-scholarship-as-adom-fm-launches-appeal-for-her-admission-fees\/"},"modified":"2022-01-06T10:08:27","modified_gmt":"2022-01-06T10:08:27","slug":"sammy-awuku-offers-lady-scholarship-as-adom-fm-launches-appeal-for-her-admission-fees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/06\/sammy-awuku-offers-lady-scholarship-as-adom-fm-launches-appeal-for-her-admission-fees\/","title":{"rendered":"Sammy Awuku offers lady scholarship as Adom FM launches appeal for her admission fees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"464\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/ndc-npp-like-cancer-we-are-going-nowhere-sammy-awuku.jpg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"\" ndc=\"\" npp=\"\" like=\"\" cancer=\"\" we=\"\" are=\"\" going=\"\" nowhere=\"\" sammy=\"\" awuku=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sammi Awuku, NPP National Organiser <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Sammy Awuku, fulfilled the dream of a young lady who had gained admission to the Accra College of Education.<\/p>\n<p>21-year-old Sakina Zakari had lost hope due to the inability of her parents and family members to support her to raise funds for her tertiary education.<\/p>\n<p>The former science student of Chemu Senior High School (SHS) had just 24 hours to raise GH\u00a23,200 to fulfill her dream of becoming a science teacher in the future.<\/p>\n<p>She, therefore, decided to reach out to Ghana\u2019s No.1 radio station, <strong>Adom FM <\/strong>to launch a public appeal to raise funds to help her go to school.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>In an interview on Adom FM\u2019s morning show, <strong>Dwaso Nsem<\/strong>, Sakina narrated how her unemployed parents suffered to see her through SHS but are now at their wit end.<\/p>\n<p>Touched by the plight of the young lady, Sammy Awuku in a telephone conversation with show host, Chief Jerry Forson, offered Sakina a full scholarship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just received a call from Sammy Awuku, DG of NLA and he has offered to support Sakina\u2019s education through the NLA\u2019s Good Causes Foundation\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is the charity arm of NLA set up to develop, implement and maintain an integrated action plan based on four main pillars \u2013 education, health, youth and sports development, and culture.<\/p>\n<p>The education pillar will focus on awarding educational support to brilliant but needy students, provide infrastructure and logistics support to educational institutions and sponsorship for programmes that meet the objective of the foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Sakina through <strong>Adom FM<\/strong> is now a beneficiary of the NLA \u2018Good Causes Foundation\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>            <!--  [embed]https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=videoseries[\/embed]<!--\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
