The talking point was when Ghana coach, Milovan Rajevac handed Great Olympics striker, Maxwell Abbey Qauye his senior debut. The 23-year-old was brought on for Israel based striker, Richmond Boakye Yiadom on the 67th minute and showed glimpses of his quality. Sunday who won the African best footballer in 1971, wants Milovan Rajevac to assemble players based on merit.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/6ebbf04e86f142dc88e02be18fa75b0d\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn my opinion, everybody should be given the chance [to play]. \u201cPlaying abroad does not mean you are better than a local player, that\u2019s not the case. \u201c local player is performing well, he must be given the chance to play likewise the foreign based player. \u201cBut if we will only depend on a foreign player, it could happen that, the foreign player could be injured at the last minute. \u201cAre we now going call on the local player or not? \u201cIt all depends on the players\u2019 current form before their call up. \u201cI have seen a few players invited from the local league, which I think is good because it will give them the experience and exposure. \u201cSo either\u00a0foreign or local players, all depends on your form.\u201d Ibrahim Sunday told Edubiaseman fm.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/b00bcb71866c4e5a8a5af044752e31fc\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Black Stars are in group C with North African giants, Morocco, Gabon and debutants, Comoros. The four time African champions open their campaign against Morocco on Monday, January 10 with the aim of breaking the 40-year trophy drought.
