The Kumasi Business of the Multimedia Group has supported hundreds of less-privileged persons from twenty-four orphanages in the Ashanti Region with a total of GHC148,000.00.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The amount was obtained from donations made by listeners of Luv FM and Nhyira FM as well as sympathizers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Management of the Kumasi Business donated food items, clothes and the cash amount which was shared averagely between\u00a0\u00a25,000 and\u00a0\u00a28,000 per home.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The initiative dubbed \u2018NHYIRA ABODOO\u2019 is part of Nhyira FM\u2019s annual support scheme to empower the less privileged in society. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The event held during the Christmas season, seeks to make Christmas meaningful for the less-privileged as part of the company\u2019s social commitment to the Ashanti Region<\/p>\n

It was a joyous moment for most inmates as they participated in dance competitions and enjoyed good meals and confectionaries.\u00a0<\/p>\n

2022, as an economic year, has been a rollercoaster for many Ghanaians, with inmates and caretakers of orphanage homes also reeling under the impact of the economic dip. \u00a0<\/p>\n

For caretakers of the orphanage homes, the donations come in handy in the midst of the current economic crisis.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Caretaker of All Nations Charity Home, Francis Tieku says the items received would cushion the homes against the prevailing hardship.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom the beginning of the year, things have been very hard. The charity homes are also suffering. But because we have the items it will able to accommodate us. We are going to share these items to the children and keep the remaining for the coming year. We don\u2019t know what lies ahead,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Over the last two decades, the media organisation has provided financial support to over twenty students at both secondary and tertiary levels of education, with majority of them currently pursuing professional programmes at the university.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Management of Luv FM and Nhyira FM is looking to support thirty students with scholarship through the annual project.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Programmes Manager at Nhyira FM, Benjamin Ocran says it is a delight seeing the company put smiles on the faces of the underprivileged.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are always happy when they come around our premises to have such a party. I am always delighted to play with them. This makes them feel not left out of the society, but have that sense of belonging\u201d he said. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Head of Events and Promotions at Luv FM and Nhyira FM, Eric Inkoom described this year\u2019s edition as incredibly successful despite the economic hardship.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cManagement identified problems confronting each orphanage home and provided support. We are very grateful to our donors and listeners for coming together to make this programme a success,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The beneficiary orphanages include; the Kumasi Children\u2019s Home, S.O.S Childrens Village, All Nations Home, Suzzy Charity Home, Save our Lives-Ghana, Peace Perfect Home, Charley Care Foundation, Mercy For All Foundation, Adom Needy Care Foundation, Beads of Life Charity Home, Bekwai CDI, and the Revelation Children Home.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Others are; Kiku Kinder Home, Hecca Children\u2019s Home, Life in Jesus Orphanage Home, Ghana Blind Union, Remar Ghana, Community Special School, The Rock Orphanage Home, King Jesus Charity Home, Mmofra yi Home, Nyame Na Aye, Kids Care Foundation, and Columbus Orphanage Home.<\/p>\n
