I think this is a great club for me to come in and try to show what I can [do] and try to help the team to achieve more beautiful moments that they already did in the past years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think for me personally it\u2019s also good to develop here and there\u2019s a lot of great players here [who] I can learn a lot of things from.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gakpo boasts an impressive record in front of goal, scoring 55 goals in 159 games for PSV, and providing a further 50 assists.<\/p>\n<p>He is top of the current Eredivisie scoring charts, scoring nine times in 14 games this campaign, he has also registered 12 assists.<\/p>\n<p>Gakpo has 35 goal contributions in 31 games across domestic and international football this season.<\/p>\n<p>He made his Netherlands debut aged 21 in June 2021 and has since scored six times in 14 appearances.<\/p>\n<p>Three of those goals came at the World Cup in Qatar, where he netted in all three group games against Senegal, Ecuador, and the hosts themselves.<\/p>\n<p>The 23-year-old was a sought-after prospect after impressing for both PSV and the Dutch national side and has reportedly been tracked by a number of clubs including Manchester United and Real Madrid.<\/p>\n<p>Following Man Utd\u2019s 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest, manager Erik ten Hag was questioned about the club\u2019s pursuit of Gakpo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t talk about individual cases,\u201d he insisted. \u201cWe are looking for a striker, it would be good with so many games coming.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to stay in all the leagues we are playing in and you need numbers in the squad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gakpo will help to bolster the Liverpool attacking line, with Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, and Roberto Firmino sidelined with injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Jota is expected to be out until February with a calf issue, while Diaz could be out until March after having surgery on a knee injury.<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool are back in action on Friday when they host Leicester City, before travelling to Brentford on Monday where Gakpo will be eligible to make his debut.<\/p>\n<p>            <!--  [embed]https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=videoseries[\/embed]<!--\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>--><\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"idziIkoOOHo\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Badwam on Adom TV (30-12-22)\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/idziIkoOOHo?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cody Gapko Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven.
