The NPP has denied reports MP for Hemang Lower Denkyira and Deputy Minister for Employment and Labour Relations Bright Wireko-Brobby was chased from the party office by youth there last weekend.<\/p>\n
In a statement issued on Wednesday, NPP Constituency Secretary, Bernard Nana Ayebeng described the reports as \u201ca lie from the pit of hell.\u201d<\/p>\n
Media reports last week indicated the MP was chased by party youth from the constituency party office for scheming to get some polling station executives suspended.<\/p>\n
But the party says nothing like that happened.<\/p>\n
Below is the full statement.<\/p>\n
We, the youth in the Hemang Lower Denkyira Constituency of the Central Region, are shocked to read, watch, and listen to news reports that our champion MP was chased out of the party constituency office on the 19th\u00a0of December 2022 by some disgruntled young people.<\/p>\n
This report is a lie from the pit of hell. Nothing could be further from the truth. Hon. Bright Wireko \u2013 Brobby has brought more development to this constituency over the last 6 years than any other member of parliament in the history of the constituency. When it comes to the building of schools, health care facilities, and other infrastructure, as well as providing entrepreneurship and employment opportunities for women and the youth, Hon. Wireko-Brobby has no match in the history of our noble constituency. We the youth of the NPP and the young people at large in the constituency are excited about the work he has done for us so far. There is therefore no reason for us to chase him from the party office under any circumstance.<\/p>\n
On the said date, the Hon.\u00a0MP joined his constituency executives for\u00a0a\u00a0routine meeting. False information by key\u00a0supporters of Lawrence\u00a0Agyensam\u00a0(CEO of Exim Bank who is interested in contesting the seat)\u00a0that some polling station executives would be dismissed was spread around. But they were surprised and let down when that didn\u2019t happen.\u00a0The MP dished out\u00a0Christmas\u00a0gifts\u00a0to the few\u00a0party supporters who had gathered\u00a0around the\u00a0New Patriotic Party (NPP)\u00a0office as always and left in peace.\u00a0We are shocked to\u00a0hear\u00a0a fabricated story that our MP was chased out.\u00a0God forbid!!!!<\/p>\n
We as the youth in the constituency would want to use this opportunity to commend Hon. Wireko-Brobby for all the work he is doing to help bring progress and development to Hemang Lower Denkyira. We wish him well in all his endeavours and urge him to be strong and courageous, and not be demoralised because of the vile propaganda aimed at tarnishing his hard-won reputation.<\/p>\n
