Accra, Dec 24, GNA \u2013 Parliament on Thursday adjourned sine die for the Christmas break after passing the Appropriation Bill for the 2023 Fiscal Year.<\/p>\n
The break also marks the end of the\u00a0Third\u00a0Meeting of the Second Session of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.<\/p>\n
Mr Alban\u00a0Sumana\u00a0Kingsford\u00a0Bagbin, the Speaker of Parliament,\u00a0in his closing remarks,\u00a0said:\u00a0\u201cAll is well that ends well.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd I say\u00a0ayekoo\u00a0to all of you. And may you enjoy the yuletide\u201d.<\/p>\n
Mr\u00a0Osei\u00a0Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the Majority Leader,Leader of Government Business,\u00a0and Member of Parliament (MP) for\u00a0Suame,\u00a0thanked his colleague MPs for their cooperation.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt wasn\u2019t all easy in all times. But Mr Speaker, we managed to demonstrate with our mates, that although we disagree, we can cooperate. Mr Speaker, that is the beauty of the democracy that we are enjoying today.\u201d He said.<\/p>\n
Touching on the Christmas celebration, Mr\u00a0Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu\u00a0urged\u00a0the\u00a0MPs to use the opportunity to reconcile with one another and their\u00a0Maker.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are in difficult times and it is important that all believers join hands to pray to God for greater endowment of knowledge and wisdom in the\u00a0governance of this country,\u201d the Majority Leader said.<\/p>\n
He advised\u00a0the\u00a0MPs\u00a0to observe traffic regulations to ensure\u00a0an\u00a0accident-free Christmas.<\/p>\n
He urged all to make some time\u00a0to rest, get closer to their families,\u00a0re-energize and\u00a0get\u00a0composed for\u00a0an active participation\u00a0in the First Meeting of the Third Session of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.<\/p>\n

Mr\u00a0Iddrisu, the Minority Leader and\u00a0MP for Tamale South,\u00a0lauded the Speaker for his strong leadership in stirring the affairs of the House.<\/p>\n
He lauded the Speaker\u2019s determination to help theHouse\u2019s\u00a0Leadership build a strong\u00a0and\u00a0accountable Parliament.<\/p>\n
The Minority Leader commended\u00a0Mr Joseph\u00a0Osei-Owusu, the First Deputy Speaker; Mr Andrew\u00a0AmoakoAsiamah, the Second Deputy Speaker; the Majority Leader, his colleague MPs, the Clerk of Parliament, the staff of the Table Office and the Parliamentary Press Corps for their support throughout the year.<\/p>\n
He appealed to Members to work\u00a0as a team\u00a0in the national interest.<\/p>\n
