To have a superstar such as Akon commend a budding artiste is a big deal thus Black Sherif is beside himself with excitement over the endorsement.<\/p>\n
In fact, he is humbled by Akon disclosing he is a big fan of his (Black Sherif) and it encourages him to do more.<\/p>\n
A fortnight ago, the Senegalese-American singer was heard on\u00a0BBC Radio\u00a01 Xtra saying he is a huge fan of Black Sherif and he would snap him up if no major label picked him.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m a huge fan of Black Sherif right now. I think it may be because he just reminded me of the energy of myself when I came out. I remember the first record, bro.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was in New York City when a friend of mine called Baako from Mali played me the song and I said yo who the F is that? You can hear in his voice, you can feel the pain, the struggle, you hear the challenges and you can just hear a ghetto kid wanting to get out.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s the way he says it, you know is real, it\u2019s nothing that\u2019s fabricated and if no major label picks him up, they need to get to him before I do,\u201d Akon is quoted to have said on\u00a0BBC Radio\u00a01Xtra.<\/p>\n
Speaking in an interview with\u00a0Graphic , the\u00a0Kwaku The Traveller\u00a0hitmaker said he was humbled by Akon\u2019s endorsement and this would urge him to do more.<\/p>\n
\u201cSuch comments will urge me to do more. I have received such comments from superstars like Snoop Dogg but I am not allowing all that to get to my head.<\/p>\n
\u201cI see them as compliments and a challenge for me to do more. Black Sherif is just starting and Ghanaians and the world are about to experience something spectacular from me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Black Sherif rose to global acclaim with his hit string of successful singles such as\u00a0First and Second Sermon, Kwaku The Traveller,\u00a0among others.<\/p>\n
