\n \nThe National Communications Officer (NCO) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi walked his long-time girlfriend, Irene Amankwah Karikari, to the aisle in a colourful private ceremony.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \nThe ceremony, which was held at the Chain Homes Estate in Accra yesterday, December 21, 2022, was graced by the cr\u00e8me de la cr\u00e8me in the NDC party, with former President Mahama as the special guest of honour.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \nGhanaian Artistes, Nacee, Piese Ester, Akwaboah and King Promise graced the occasion to serenade the new couples with beautiful songs.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \nSammy Gyamfi has become a household name due to his work as the NCO of the NDC, however his newly wedded wife, Irene, is relatively unknown to the Ghanaian public, piquing many people\u2019s interest as to who she could be.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \nWhen pictures of the marriage ceremony first hit social media, one Mohammed Awal, a popular activist of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), posted on his Facebook page that information available to him indicate that Sammy Gyamfi\u2019s wife is a known sympathiser of the elephant tradition.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \nThis post fuelled speculations on social media that Sammy Gyamfi has followed the footsteps of Chief Biney, the immediate past Deputy National Organiser of the NDC, who married Afia Akoto, a known activist of the NPP.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \nBut contrary information indicates that Irene Amankwah Karikari, a Lawyer by Profession, is rather a known sympathiser of the NDC, who has been a card bearing member of the party for more than 10 years.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \nA member of the NDC\u2019s Communication Team, Lawyer Beatrice Annan, who has known Sammy Gyamfi since their University days at the KNUST, in a post on Facebook, debunked those assertions.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \n \nShe wrote \u201cSammy Gyamfi\u2019s wife has never been a member of the NPP and will never be. She has always been a member of the NDC for more than 10 years. #fortherecords\u201d.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \nA known Youth Activist of the NDC and loyalist of Sammy Gyamfi, Annan Perry, disclosed on his Twitter page that Irene Amankwah Karikari, now Mrs Gyamfi, was actually Sammy Gyamfi\u2019s campaign manager when he first contested for the NCO position in 2018.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \n \n\u201cMrs Irene Gyamfi, wife of Sammy Gyamfi has NEVER been a member of Npp and shall never be.
