According to Abeiku, his friend had helped him previously and trusted him to pay him back.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe often brings in phones, laptops and TVs. So when he asked me for that amount, honestly, I didn\u2019t have it. I asked around, and I hadn\u2019t been able to pay them still. I gave the GHS25,000 to him on a Thursday, and he said he\u2019d give it back on Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But I didn\u2019t call that day because I didn\u2019t want to put him under pressure. I called on Tuesday, but he didn\u2019t pick up. The next day, his phone was off. I reached out to his cousin, and they said he was planning on leaving for Europe,\u201d he disclosed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Abeiku revealed that he is currently jobless and still in debt to those he borrowed from.
