{"id":1267093,"date":"2022-12-18T10:33:53","date_gmt":"2022-12-18T10:33:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/12\/18\/azorka-retained-two-others-win-vice-chairmanship-position\/"},"modified":"2022-12-18T10:33:53","modified_gmt":"2022-12-18T10:33:53","slug":"azorka-retained-two-others-win-vice-chairmanship-position","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/12\/18\/azorka-retained-two-others-win-vice-chairmanship-position\/","title":{"rendered":"Azorka retained, two others win Vice Chairmanship position"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Sofo Awudu Azorka has been retained as the First Vice chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress in the party\u2019s just-ended national congress held on December 17, 2022, at the Accra sports stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Azorka was elected together with Dr. Hanny Sherry Ayittey [2nd Vice Chair] and Abanga Yakubu Alhassan [3rd Vice Chairman].<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Azorka had the highest votes per the results announced by the Electoral Commission (EC) after the election polling 2707 votes.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Sherry Ayittey and Yakubu Alhassan also polled 1820 and 864 votes respectively.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"MUxGbd wuQ4Ob WZ8Tjf\">Azorka served in the same capacity in the last four years. He had also served as\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"MUxGbd wuQ4Ob WZ8Tjf\">t<\/span>he Northern Regional Chairman of the NDC.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Azorka locked horns with seven other candidates to win the election.<\/p>\n<p>The three were elected out of a list of eight persons.<\/p>\n<p>Below is how the delegates voted in the Vice Chiarmanship race:<\/p>\n<p>SHERIF ABDUL-NASIRU \u2013 750<br \/><strong>ABANGA YAKUBU ALHASSAN \u2013\u00a0 864<\/strong><br \/><strong>DR.
