Just days before Stephen Boss, known as DJ tWitch on \u201cThe Ellen DeGeneres Show,\u201d tragically\u00a0took his own life,\u00a0he was seen dancing and smiling throughout his California home.<\/p>\n

On Monday night, his wife of\u00a0nearly a decade, Allison Holker, posted\u00a0several videos\u00a0on Instagram of the two of them getting into the holiday spirit by cutting a rug in front of their Christmas tree.<\/p>\n

\u201cHOLIDAY SUNDAY FUNDAY DANCE !!! With my lover,\u201d Holker, 34, wrote in the caption.<\/p>\n

Boss, who was 40 years old, also posted\u00a0another video\u00a0earlier this month of himself grooving to music in his living room with the caption: \u201cMoving around a little on a Friday night.\u201d<\/p>\n

But as fans were quick to note, sometimes things are not as they seem.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlways check in on your friends and families,\u201d a Twitter user named Ashanti said in a note above an advertorial video showing Boss and his family dancing along to the music of a bopping toy. \u201cPeople be fighting secret battles that we [know] NOTHING about. Rip Twitch. This is so heartbreaking. Praying for the wife and those beautiful babies.\u201d<\/p>\n

The two purchased a newly built home in Encino back in 2019 for $2.75 million, records obtained by The Post show.<\/p>\n

Worth an estimated $4 million today, the home has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, spanning 4,600 square feet.<\/p>\n

Pegged as a modern farmhouse in the upscale Amestoy Estates, features include smart home technology, a built-in barbecue and a fire pit in the backyard with an expansive pool and spa.<\/p>\n

The previous listing notes that the home has an \u201caward-winning elementary school\u201d nearby. Boss and Holker\u00a0share three children, Weslie, 14; Maddox, 6; and Zaia, 3.<\/p>\n

The same year, in 2019, they also purchased a four-bedroom, four-bathroom home in Utah.<\/p>\n

The couple owned a four-bedroom, three-bathroom home in Sherman Oaks, which they sold for $1.28 million in 2019 before upgrading to their current home.<\/p>\n

On Monday morning,\u00a0Boss allegedly checked into a motel\u00a0less than one mile away from his home in Los Angeles,\u00a0TMZ reported.<\/p>\n

Motel staffers told the outlet that Boss \u201cdidn\u2019t appear to be in any sort of distress and wasn\u2019t visibly upset about anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

He reportedly brought one small bag with him and had booked the room for only one night.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, when Boss missed his checkout, a motel staffer reportedly entered his room. His body was allegedly discovered in the bathroom.<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner later revealed his\u00a0official cause of death\u00a0was due to suicide by a gunshot wound to the head.<\/p>\n

Holker appeared to be frantic\u00a0when she reported her husband missing \u2014 revealing it was not like him at all, and that he\u2019d left his car at home.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday,\u00a0DeGeneres paid tribute\u00a0to her longtime friend, who had worked with her since 2014.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m heartbroken. tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him,\u201d said DeGeneres, 64. \u201cPlease send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children \u2014 Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.\u201d<\/p>\n

Holker also released\u00a0a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us,\u201d Holker said of the \u201cSo You Think You Can Dance\u201d judge. \u201cStephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTo say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt,\u201d she continued. \u201cI am certain there won\u2019t be a day that goes by that we won\u2019t honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children.\u201d<\/p>\n

She concluded: \u201cStephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.\u201d<\/p>\n
