\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n A security guard at the Lusail Stadium has died after falling from the World Cup venue in Qatar after Argentina\u2019s quarter-final win over the Netherlands.<\/p>\n Kenyan John Njau Kibue was initially said to be in a stable but critical condition \u2013 however, he died after three days in hospital.<\/p>\n Qatari organisers say they \u201care investigating the circumstances leading to the fall as a matter of urgency\u201d.<\/p>\n The 24-year-old\u2019s sister told CNN they have not been given an explanation.<\/p>\n \u201cWe want justice. We want to know what caused his death. They have never sent us a picture to show where he fell from or given us any other information,\u201d Ann Wanjiru said.<\/p>\n World Cup 2022: How many migrant workers have died?<\/strong><\/p>\n Kibue\u2019s family told CNN he moved to Qatar in November to work on a contract with a local security firm.<\/p>\n Kibue is the second migrant worker reported to have died since the start of the World Cup on November 20. A Filipino national fell to his death while carrying out repairs at a resort used as a training base by the Saudi Arabian team, The Athletic reported.<\/p>\n While the tournament\u2019s supreme committee stressed that that death happened on property outside its jurisdiction, it said it offered \u201csincere condolences\u201d to Kibue\u2019s family, colleagues and friends.<\/p>\n A report by the Guardian newspaper last year said 6,500 migrant workers had died in Qatar since the country was awarded the World Cup in 2010.<\/p>\n That has been denied by the Qatari authorities, who say there have been three work-related deaths in construction related directly to the tournament, and a further 37 non work-related deaths.
