{"id":1264763,"date":"2022-12-13T17:26:27","date_gmt":"2022-12-13T17:26:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/12\/13\/its-far-from-over-brogya-genfi-on-loss-of-ndc-youth-organiser-contest-to-pablo\/"},"modified":"2022-12-13T17:26:27","modified_gmt":"2022-12-13T17:26:27","slug":"its-far-from-over-brogya-genfi-on-loss-of-ndc-youth-organiser-contest-to-pablo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/12\/13\/its-far-from-over-brogya-genfi-on-loss-of-ndc-youth-organiser-contest-to-pablo\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;It&#8217;s far from over&#8217;; Brogya Genfi on loss of NDC Youth Organiser contest to Pablo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Picsart_22-12-13_11-17-11-659-1024x674.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div id=\"article-text\">\n<p>Defeated NDC Youth Organiser candidate, Ernest Brogya Genfi, says even though he lost the recently held poll, the contest is \u2018far from over\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued on Monday, he explained that the contest at the University of Cape Coast last Saturday was fraught with manipulations, designed to favour the incumbent, George Opare Addo.<\/p>\n<p>According to the NDC member, the election of Opare Addo, popularly known as \u2018Pablo\u2019, was marked by express violations of court orders prior to the polls.<\/p>\n<p>Noting his reservations, he therefore called on the party to institutionalise reforms to ensure credible elections in the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the records, the election of National Youth Organizer of the NDC is far from over\u201d, he warned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe processes leading to the 10th National Youth and Women\u2019s Conference was fraught with deliberate manipulation of the delegates list to favour the incumbent.<\/p>\n<p>This was in violation of express decisions and orders of courts of competent jurisdiction and the directives of the NDC\u201d, Mr Genfi lamented.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fcgenfi%2Fposts%2Fpfbid0jdoPiWK3vpGKqrwPVreWkUXuqV99LgosccKqWScXAyhFPeFxJc6T9tohPZ7T978Gl&#038;show_text=true&#038;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"277\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In the release issued after the election, he however expressed gratitude to his teeming supporters who rallied behind him in his bid to unseat the incumbent, Pablo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201d \u2018Ayekoo\u2019 to all those who accepted my message of Leadership of Courage and voted for me, as well as those who did not.<\/p>\n<p>To my teeming supporters, admirers and the rank and file of the party who desired for a change in the youth leadership, I say thank you to you all\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p>The incumbent National Youth Organiser of the NDC, George Opare Addo, retained his position after a keenly contested election in Cape Coast on Saturday, December 10.<\/p>\n<p>Pablo, as he is affectionately called, beat his sole contender, Yaw Brogya Genfi by obtaining 533 votes.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-myjoyonline-com wp-block-embed-myjoyonline-com\"\/>\n<p>Brogya Genfi, who was the Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser, failed to annex the portfolio, after amassing a total of 508\u00a0votes of the valid votes cast.<\/p>\n<p>Pablo\u2019s win marked his second successive victory over Brogya Genfi, after beating him in the 2018 contest.<\/p>\n<p>Having retained his seat, Pablo, a trained lawyer, will serve as the leader of the party\u2019s Youth wing for the next four years; leading the NDC\u2019s youth into the 2024 general elections.<\/p>\n<p>In the race for the party\u2019s Deputy National Organiser, Osman Abdulai Ayariga and Ruth Dela Seddoh emerged victorious in that regard.<\/p>\n<p>Ruth, who is the incumbent garnered 313 votes, while Osman Ayariga led the race with 373 votes.<\/p>\n<p>But Pablo\u2019s sole contender remains agitated about the outcome of the poll, and is yet to formally congratulate Mr Opare Addo, after losing by some 25 votes.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the NDC will hold the next phase of its national delegates conference this Saturday, to elect a new national chairman, secretary and persons to occupy other portfolios.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISCLAIMER: <\/strong>The Views, Comments, Opinions, Contributions and Statements made by Readers and Contributors on this platform do not necessarily represent the views or policy of Multimedia Group Limited.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Defeated NDC Youth Organiser candidate, Ernest Brogya Genfi, says even though he lost the recently held poll, the contest is \u2018far from over\u2019.
