Celine Dion\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Celine Dion has revealed she been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), a rare neurological disorder with features of an autoimmune disease.<\/p>\n The Canadian singer, 54, told her 5.2m Instagram followers the condition makes her muscles spasm uncontrollably.<\/p>\n It has also left her with difficulties walking and singing, she said, meaning she will be unable to play planned shows in the UK and Europe next year.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time,\u201d said Dion.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd it\u2019s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I\u2019ve been going through,\u201d she continued in the emotionally-charged video.<\/p>\n \u201cRecently I\u2019ve been diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder called the stiff person syndrome which affects one in a million people.<\/p>\n \u201cWhile we\u2019re still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is what\u2019s been causing all the spasms I\u2019ve been having.\u201d<\/p>\n She added: \u201cUnfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal chords to sing the way I\u2019m used to.<\/p>\n \u201cIt hurts me to tell you today that this means I won\u2019t be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February.\u201d<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n BBC<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Celine Dion\u00a0 \u00a0 Celine Dion has revealed she been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), a rare neurological disorder with features of an autoimmune disease.
