{"id":1261042,"date":"2022-12-02T19:59:47","date_gmt":"2022-12-02T19:59:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/12\/02\/asamoah-gyan-tears-black-stars-players-apart\/"},"modified":"2022-12-02T19:59:47","modified_gmt":"2022-12-02T19:59:47","slug":"asamoah-gyan-tears-black-stars-players-apart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/12\/02\/asamoah-gyan-tears-black-stars-players-apart\/","title":{"rendered":"Asamoah Gyan tears Black Stars players apart"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"408\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/59057259.jpg\"   alt=\"Asamoah Gyan\" title=\"Asamoah Gyan\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Asamoah Gyan<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Asamoah Gyan has slammed the playing body of the Black Stars following their elimination from the 2022 World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Ghana who needed a draw to progress to the next round of the Mundial suffered a 2-0 defeat against Uruguay in their final Group H game at the Al Janoub Stadium on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The Black Stars were awarded a spot kick but skipper for the side, Andre Ayew failed to find the back of the net.<\/p>\n<p>However, Georgian De Arrascaeta scored twice as the two-time world champions defeat Ghana 2-0.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to the defeat, Gyan, who featured in 2006, 2010, and 2014 World Cups in Germany, South Africa, and Brazil slammed the players for failing to put up a fighting spirit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am very disappointed and upset because you cannot lose a game like this,\u201d he said on SuperSport.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have to play your hearts out and even when you lose, you will be praised but there was no sense of urgency and it was bad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is irritating how they played today,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Ghana now exit the tournament with three points.
