In line<\/span> with the <\/span>Government\u2019s <\/span>directive to <\/span>link all <\/span>SIM cards to<\/span> National Identification Card<\/span> (<\/span>Ghana <\/span>C<\/span>ard<\/span>)<\/span>, all <\/span>SIM cards<\/span> that are <\/span>not fully registered <\/span>on the AirtelTigo network <\/span>as of 30th November<\/span>\u00a02022, <\/span>will <\/span>be b<\/span>locked<\/span> from <\/span>accessing<\/span> all services.<\/span><\/p>\n

In effect, all <\/span>partially <\/span>registered SIM cards <\/span>i.e<\/span>, customers who have successfu<\/span>lly li<\/span>nk<\/span>ed their<\/span> SIM cards<\/span> to their <\/span>Ghana Card <\/span>but <\/span>have <\/span>not <\/span>done <\/span>biometric capture<\/span> will be b<\/span>locked<\/span> from<\/span> making <\/span>&<\/span> receiving calls, <\/span>accessing the internet <\/span>& mobile money services, <\/span>sending <\/span>&<\/span> receiving SMS,<\/span> amongst other<\/span>s<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

A<\/span>bout 1.<\/span>5<\/span> million AirtelTigo subscribers <\/span>who <\/span>have completed the<\/span>ir<\/span> first<\/span> step<\/span> of<\/span> re<\/span>gistration<\/span> but <\/span>are yet to complete<\/span>\u00a0their <\/span>final step<\/span> of <\/span>biometric capture<\/span> will <\/span>consequently <\/span>get<\/span> blocked<\/span> from 1<\/span>st<\/span> December<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Making the announcement, <\/span>Leo Skarlatos, Chief Executive Officer at AirtelTigo<\/span> remarked<\/span>, <\/span>\u201cwe encourage all subscribers who, for one reason or the other, have not been able to fully register to do so quickly <\/span>and<\/span>restore their services and phone numbers. We would like to thank all AirtelTigo subscribers who have fully registered their SIM cards<\/span> and are <\/span>enjoying our services<\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
