Ghanaian furniture design company, Tekura has been featured in Marvel\u2019s latest Black Panther movie \u2013 Wakanda Forever.<\/p>\n

The feature included interior decor products, including Tekura\u2019s djembe\u00a0tables and others as well as lighting from other African designers. These were used for constructing a set in the movie.<\/p>\n

\"Ghanaian<\/figure>\n

Tekura\u2019s djembe\u00a0tables were displayed with other made-in-Africa products on the set. The djembe\u00a0table has inspiration from the djembe\u00a0drum which is played with the bare hands and originates from West Africa.<\/p>\n

The name djembe<\/em>\u00a0signifies a call for everyone to come together in peace.<\/p>\n

It all began with a \u201cmysterious order\u201d at Tekura\u2019s retail partner in the US 54kibo Home Decor. 54kibo recounted in an Instagram post congratulating all the curated designers whose products made it into the Black Panther movie.<\/p>\n

\"Ghanaian<\/figure>\n

\u201cWhen we first got that mysterious order in 2021 for 15 products, we did not know which movie the product would end up in, but it reaffirmed our vision.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

54kibo, a luxury d\u00e9cor retailer and Tekura have been partners since 2018 and it has been retailing in US African design, luxury, and sustainable interior d\u00e9cor products.<\/p>\n

Managing Director of Tekura, Audrey Forson says, \u201cThe Wakanda Forever movie feature is a major recognition and a huge opportunity for Tekura and African designers to show our excellence to the world. This reaffirms our vision to be the go-to d\u00e9cor and accessories brand. We at Tekura design create bits of our culture from sustainable wood, telling a unique and positive African story to the world.<\/p>\n

This feature in the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever film shows African design to the world through the works of these designers; Tekura, Modern Gesture (Candice Lawrence) and Jomo Tariku.<\/p>\n
