Edem<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Ghanaian rapper Denning Edem Hotor, popularly called Edem in the music industry, has revealed that his annual musical concert dubbed \u201cEdemfest\u201d will be held next year.<\/p>\n The annual event came to a halt in 2019due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its subsequent effects.<\/p>\n A news statement copied to GNA Entertainment<\/em> explained that the event would be a fully-fledged multiple day festival, filled with more activities.\u00a0\u00a0It said it would be a paid event, as compared to the previous ones.<\/p>\n \u201cPaying for events is the future of the events ecosystem, which is why Edemfest would encourage all fans to pay something to secure the future of such an event for the region,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n The statement however, said the rapper is excited the event would be an avenue for people in the community to raise revenue.<\/p>\n It said, preparations and planning have already begun ahead of the festival to be held in the beautiful coastal town of Keta, filled with its nice sandy beaches and rich history.<\/p>\n \u201cThe date and exact venue would be officially communicated in 2023, but ahead of the main festival, Edem and his team would embark on a series of activities that would lead to one of the finest festivals to be held in Ghana and beyond,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n However, previous Edemfest editions featured popular musicians such as Kofi Kinaata, Stonebwoy, Kwaw Kese, Sarkodie, Obrafour, and many others.<\/p>\n Edem is noted for fusing his local dialect \u2018Ewe\u2019 in his songs, he spearheaded the use of Ewe language in mainstreaming his music, which gained popularity globally.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In 2006, Edem released his first hit single titled \u2018Witine Woshi\u2019, which translates as \u201cwe came and they ran\u201d, the song has over 100 million streams across all musical platforms and currently a hit song.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n GNA<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n \n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Edem \u00a0 Ghanaian rapper Denning Edem Hotor, popularly called Edem in the music industry, has revealed that his annual musical concert dubbed \u201cEdemfest\u201d will be held next year.
