Beyonc\u00e9, the reigning queen of R&B, is the only performer Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay feels she can be compared to.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Wendy Shay believes that she merits the title of queen since she is the most successful female performer in Ghana at the present time.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst of all, the Queen of Ghana was a title my fans gave me,\u201d Wendy Shay told 3Music. \u201cAnd who doesn\u2019t appreciate good things? They gave me that title, and I was like, \u2018If they see me as the queen of Ghana music\u2019, I will take it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat right there was to confirm the fact that, yeah, I have accepted that title because my fans gave it to me,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

According to Wendy Shay, everyone has the right to choose any name they wish to call themselves.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe that everyone has the right to call themselves whatever they want. I think as far as giving ourselves a title, everybody is entitled to do so. And I believe that everyone is a queen. All of the other female artists are queens.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I was talking about myself, so they can also call themselves queens. I never mentioned anyone\u2019s name. I was just making a statement and affirming the fact that my fans have given me that title,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
