{"id":1258105,"date":"2022-11-25T13:37:21","date_gmt":"2022-11-25T13:37:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/11\/25\/prices-of-gari-sachet-water-reduce-following-low-demand\/"},"modified":"2022-11-25T13:37:21","modified_gmt":"2022-11-25T13:37:21","slug":"prices-of-gari-sachet-water-reduce-following-low-demand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/11\/25\/prices-of-gari-sachet-water-reduce-following-low-demand\/","title":{"rendered":"Prices of gari, sachet water reduce following low demand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>By Gilbert Azeem Tiroog\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bolgatanga, Nov. 25, GNA \u2013 The prices of Gari and Sachet water in the Bolgatanga market, Upper East Region, have reduced, following a decline in demand due to the increase in prices earlier in November. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A bag of gari, which was sold between GH\u20b5800.00 and GH\u20b5850.00 depending on the size has reduced to GH\u20b5750.00 and GH\u20b5800.00 respectively, with a bowl of gari being sold at GH\u20b520.00 from GH\u20b525.00 previously. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Also, a pack of sachet water, which was sold between GH\u00a28.00 and GH\u20b59.00 depending on the brand, presently sells at GH\u00a26.00 and GH\u20b57.00, while a sachet goes for 30 Pesewas from 50 pesewas.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to some of the sachet water sellers, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), demand declined as a result of the increment, which paved way for the former \u2018ice water,\u2019 unfiltered water tied in small rubber bags, sold at 20 pesewas, into the market.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u201cIce water\u2019 used to be dominant in rural communities including those without electricity where sellers refrigerate it or put big chunks of ice on it to get it chilled.
