The Black Stars of Ghana will play against their Portuguese counterparts later today, November 24, 2022, in one of\u00a0 the two Group H opening matches in Doha, Stadium 974.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus are expected to be in Ghana’s starting XI to face Portugal today. Both players missed Black Stars’ friendly win over Switzerland for various reasons, nonetheless, are expected to be in Otto Addo’s line-up.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 29-year-old Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, has been a key player on Arteta’s team this season. Partey has played 11 matches with two goals so far.<\/span><\/p>\n

Muhammed Kudus has also been in form for his international team, Ajax. The 22-year-old also plays as a midfielder with 14 matches and five goals.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Black Stars will face South Korea and Uruguay in the other Group H matches after the Portugal game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Senegal, Cameroon and Ghana are the only countries to have reached the quarter-final stage of the FIFA World Cup. No African team has ever qualified for the semi-finals.<\/span><\/p>\n

All hope is not lost for the African countries, especially Ghana, to progress and break the cycle.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2014, Black Stars left the FIFA World Cup competition after they lost to Portugal in a 2-1 game.<\/span><\/p>\n
