{"id":1256895,"date":"2022-11-23T19:40:58","date_gmt":"2022-11-23T19:40:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/11\/23\/npp-government-digging-a-grave-for-the-future-of-the-party-tenants-union\/"},"modified":"2022-11-23T19:40:58","modified_gmt":"2022-11-23T19:40:58","slug":"npp-government-digging-a-grave-for-the-future-of-the-party-tenants-union","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/11\/23\/npp-government-digging-a-grave-for-the-future-of-the-party-tenants-union\/","title":{"rendered":"NPP government digging a grave for the future of the party \u2013 Tenants Union"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-11-23-at-19.18.26.jpeg\" \/><\/p>\n<div id=\"article-text\">\n<p>The Secretary-General for the National Tenants\u2019 Union of Ghana, Frederick Opoku, has said that the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government is digging a grave for the future of the party.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, decisions made by the current leadership may affect the credibility of the party.<\/p>\n<p>The Saglemi housing project, which commenced under the Mahama administration in 2012, was stalled due to a decision by the Akufo-Addo administration to probe the financial arrangements surrounding it.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the Saglemi housing project issues on<strong> Prime Morning<\/strong>, on Wednesday, Mr. Opoku revealed that the union has granted the government an ultimatum of two months to fix the project as they are planning to organize a yearlong demonstration against the NPP government.<\/p>\n<p>This, according to him, may create opportunities for the NDC to win in the upcoming election in 2024 due to some decisions made by President Akufo-Addo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn our response, we gave the government two months beginning January 15th. If the government does not receive it and so boldly go ahead with it, what will be seen in this country has never been seen. It\u2019s not going to be like a one day demonstration, we\u2019re having it a whole one year.
