However, United made no mention of his interview with Morgan in their statement<\/p>\n<p>Cristiano Ronaldo has left Manchester United with immediate effect; the club has confirmed in a 67-word statement.<\/p>\n<p>Ronaldo\u2019s exit has been agreed upon by mutual consent although it is unclear at this stage if the 37-year-old Portugal star has been sacked or received any compensation for the remaining seven months of his \u00a3500,000-a-week contract at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">&#8211;  &#8211;<\/span><br \/>\n<!-- ResponsiveAll --><\/p>\n<p>READ ALSO:\u00a0Cristiano Ronaldo breaks Instagram record, becomes first person to hit 400m followers<\/p>\n<p>United\u2019s lawyers have been looking to tear it up since Ronaldo\u2019s explosive interview with Piers Morgan aired in two parts last week.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">&#8211;  &#8211;<\/span><br \/>\n<!-- ResponsiveAll --><\/p>\n<p>A terse statement released on Tuesday evening read: \u2018Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances and wishes him and his family well for the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team\u2019s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Ronaldo released his own statement following the news, writing: \u2018Following conversations with Manchester United, we have mutually agreed to end our contract early.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change.
