Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Dr Stephen Amoah, has commended President Akufo-Addo\u2019s response to the latest expos\u00e9 by investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.<\/p>\n

According to the MP, even though the President is not perfect, his reaction to the investigative piece by the Tiger Eye Pi team is worthy of commendation.<\/p>\n

Speaking on NewsFile <\/strong>on Saturday, the NPP lawmaker said contrary to certain criticisms about the President\u2019s response to the expos\u00e9, Akufo-Addo did well in the circumstances.<\/p>\n

Lauding the President, he indicated that the battle against corruption has been on for years, and therefore the President\u2019s decision to sack an appointee named in a corruption scandal is deserving of acknowledgment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the President has rather demonstrated a leader\u2019s position and style that has to be commended.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not saying he\u2019s perfect. [But] let\u2019s be honest; he took a very swift decision and made a very swift decision to let everybody understand that he really believes in an open culture system when it comes to fighting corruption which has been a canker\u201d, Dr Stephen Amoah said.<\/p>\n

The comments by the member of Parliament, follow the President\u2019s sacking of the Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, Charles Adu Boahen.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, the Harvard scholar was shown the exit door, after he was mentioned in the latest Ana\u2019s expos\u00e9, as a facilitator of shady deals, using the name of the Vice President.<\/p>\n

Few hours after a trailer of the expos\u00e9 was published, the President, through his Director of Communications at the Presidency, Mr Eugene Arhin, announced Mr. Adu Boahen\u2019s dismissal.<\/p>\n

In the letter announcing his dismissal, the President thanked him for his \u2018strong services\u2019, and ordered the Special Prosecutor to intestigate the said allegations.<\/p>\n

But while many, including the Nhyiaeso MP, Dr Stephen Amoah have commended the President, others have expressed their lack of confidence in the outcome of the investigations.<\/p>\n

According to the critics, Adu Boahen\u2019s dismissal is much ado about nothing.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Office of the Special Prosecutor says it will probe the allegations and get to the bottom of the matter.<\/p>\n
