On the Black Volta, tragedy struck when a boat in passage had an accident, killing all 18 people on board.<\/p>\n

The fatalities, who have not yet been named, were traveling through Dokochina, a mining region in the Savanna Region’s Bole district.<\/p>\n

Upon reaching the Black Volta’s middle, the boat carrying about 20 passengers reportedly overturned when it struck a fisherman’s net.<\/p>\n

Chief Muniru, the local chief, who confirmed the news to Adom News said that two victims were successfully saved and that two of the victims drowned.<\/p>\n

The victims have been interred in line with customary customs along the lake’s shore.<\/p>\n

Fishermen have halted all fishing operations while rituals are carried out to control the tides.<\/p>\n

Although no information about the deceased’s identify or relatives has surfaced, there are speculations that they were Togolese.<\/p>\n
