allegations do not have weight for censure &#8211; Ken Ofori-Atta <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>The Finance Minister, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta has said he does not believe that the allegations made by the proponents of the motion of censure for his removal from office has any &#8220;weight&#8221; behind it.<\/h2>\n<p>The proponents&#8217; allegations do not have &#8220;weight for censure&#8221;, Mr Ofori-Atta said when he appeared before the Ad hoc Committee of Parliament probing the motion.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"429\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=314&#038;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FParliament.of.Ghana%2Fvideos%2F1158555781710792%2F&#038;show_text=true&#038;width=560&#038;t=0\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>Mr\u00a0Ken Ofori-Atta denied the allegations that his recklessness has contributed to the economic challenges facing the economy.<\/h2>\n<p>He\u00a0said the claim was false as he had complied with every laid down regulation in the exercise of his role as Minister of Finance.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, he said it was the action of the Minority in Parliament in 2021 that created chaos, leading to mistrust and subsequent withdrawals by investors.<\/p>\n<p>He told the Ad hoc Committee of Parliament hearing the censure motion brought against him that \u201cI have not been reckless in the management of the fiscal operations of the government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He was responding to a claim by the Minority in Parliament, which alleged in its censure motion against the minister that fiscal recklessness by Mr Ofori-Atta has led to the crash of the Ghana Cedi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHon Co-Chairs, the ground of recklessness presupposes that I have not been guided by the laid-down regulations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to state that I have not been reckless in the management of the fiscal operations of the government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRather, our strenuous efforts to protect the public purse is what has helped this government to have achieved much, much more than any government over a similar period in virtually all sectors, including education, health, social welfare, policing, security in general, roads, railways, agriculture, industrialisation, tourism, digitization, and funding for anti-corruption institutions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"inread\" align=\"center\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/mdundo.com\/widget_song\/2107957\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"125\" width=\"300\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/1668429065_581_uT5R4nnA_o.png\" alt=\"Get New DJ Mixes\"\/>\n<\/div>\n<p>He said every action of his was first discussed with Parliament and approval granted before implementation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn all those occasions, I received approval as Parliament subsequently passed Appropriations Bills for all those Budgets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery key expenditure made has been supported by this House.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndeed, we all saw the dire consequences when the House, for months, refused to pass a major revenue generation item introduced by this government to support the fiscal stability of the economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSadly, the Minority Leader, when this government was compelled to approach the Fund this year, triumphantly took credit for frustrating government\u2019s efforts to meet its half-year revenue targets,\u201d Mr Ofori-Atta said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><script type=\"e64431fb9d72929c26a744d8-text\/javascript\">\n!function(f,b,e,v,n,t,s){if(f.fbq)return;n=f.fbq=function(){n.callMethod?\nn.callMethod.apply(n,arguments):n.queue.push(arguments)};if(!f._fbq)f._fbq=n;\nn.push=n;n.loaded=!0;n.version='2.0';n.queue=[];t=b.createElement(e);t.async=!0;\nt.src=v;s=b.getElementsByTagName(e)[0];s.parentNode.insertBefore(t,s)}(window,\ndocument,'script','https:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/fbevents.js');\nfbq('init', '771749920311523', {}, {agent: 'pljoomla'});\nfbq('track', 'PageView');\n<\/script><script type=\"e64431fb9d72929c26a744d8-text\/javascript\">(function(d, s, id) {\n\t\t\t\t  var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];\n\t\t\t\t  if (d.getElementById(id)) return;\n\t\t\t\t  js = d.createElement(s);
