{"id":1253459,"date":"2022-11-18T14:11:32","date_gmt":"2022-11-18T14:11:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/11\/18\/bog-1st-dep-governor-inducted-into-academy-of-arts-and-sciences\/"},"modified":"2022-11-18T14:11:32","modified_gmt":"2022-11-18T14:11:32","slug":"bog-1st-dep-governor-inducted-into-academy-of-arts-and-sciences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/11\/18\/bog-1st-dep-governor-inducted-into-academy-of-arts-and-sciences\/","title":{"rendered":"BoG 1st Dep Governor inducted into Academy of Arts and Sciences"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/BoG Aca.png\" alt=\"\" class=\" bd-imagestyles-16\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\n\u2022 Emeritus Professor Samuel Kofi Sefa-Dedeh (left), President, GAAS, inducting Dr Maxwell Opoku-Afari, First Deputy Governor, into the academy <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>The First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr Maxwell Opoku-Afari, has been made a Fellow of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences (GAAS).<\/h2>\n<p>Dr Opoku-Afari was inducted into the prestigious academy at a ceremony held in the institution\u2019s auditorium in Accra last Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>It was graced by the Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia,p the Governor of BoG, Dr Ernest Addison, and a host of other distinguished personalities.<\/p>\n<p>The First Deputy Governor was inducted into the fellowship by the President of GAAS, Emeritus Professor Samuel Kofi Sefa-Dedeh, alongside other distinguished scholars, who have excelled in the fields of arts and sciences.<\/p>\n<p>The academy is a group of distinguished personalities in arts and sciences working to promote the pursuit, advancement and dissemination of knowledge in all branches of the sciences and the humanities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bases<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A citation described the First Deputy Governor\u2019s contribution to national and economic development as significant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr Opoku-Afari, on account of your noteworthy contribution to policy-relevant research and modernisation of monetary policy frameworks in low-income and developing countries, you were elected Fellow of the GAAS on October 20, 2022.
