The Parliamentary Ad-hoc Committee hearing the censure motion against the beleaguered Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta will resume sitting tomorrow after suspending proceedings for one day.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Thursday, November 17, officials of the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) will appear before it.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, a member of the Committee announced this in a social media post on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The North Tongu MP disclosed that proceedings for the day will begin at 11:00am.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Ken Ofori-Atta Vote of Censure Parliamentary Committee resumes public hearings tomorrow at 11am.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe expect PIAC and GNPC to appear before us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Committee began its work on Tuesday, with proponents (Majority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu and Cassiel Ato Forson) adducing evidence for their motion.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, there were heated exchanges between the North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, counsel for the embattled Finance Minister.<\/p>\n

The heated exchanges ensued when Mr. Ablakwa asked a question about the controversial National Cathedral.<\/p>\n

However, Mr. Ofori-Atta\u2019s lawyer (Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko) strongly opposed the question.\u00a0He suggested that the North Tongu MP could organise a press conference to make those political statements.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe strongly object this line of questioning. He can hold a press conference and talk about this, not here. We are here for serious allegations that have been leveled against the Finance Minister,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, Mr. Ablakwa objected to Mr. Asare Otchere-Darko\u2019s comments.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The outspoken lawmaker also in his objection said, Mr. Asare Otchere-Darko cannot teach the Committee how to do its work.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He added that he would not be schooled on his duties as an MP by the lawyer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cYou cannot come here and throw your weight about.\u00a0You will not teach me how to do my work. You are not the chairman of this Committee,\u201d he replied.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In a sharp reply, Mr. Asare Otchere-Darko told the MP that he does not have enough weight to throw about, \u201cI am only 78 kilos.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
