– –<\/span> He saw as unusual the president\u2019s reluctance to keep Ken Ofori-Atta in his position as Finance Minister. He proposed that this could be because the Minister is covering up the corruption within the government. <\/p>\n Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe- who is known for being blunt and coming at his own party members, claimed during an interview on JoyNews\u2019 AM Show that the Finance Minister ought to have resigned the moment Ghana decided to request assistance from the IMF (IMF).<\/p>\n In his view, Mr Ofori-Atta had pledged not to take the country to the Fund because \u201cWe are a proud people.\u201d<\/p>\n – –<\/span> \u201cSo you ask yourself, why is he still there? When a person is in position and the populace says \u2018we\u2019ve had enough of you, go away\u2019 and still he wants to be there, the simple thing that should come to the mind of any ordinary Ghanaian is that he is sitting on the rot. When he\u2019s not there, we\u2019ll see how massive the rot is.\u201d<\/p>\n When asked who Mr Ofori Atta is covering up for, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe said, \u201cWho is the appointing authority of this country? And has the President approved of his removal?<\/p>\n – –<\/span> \u201cThe President should have asked him [Ken Ofori Atta] to go away.
