{"id":1251730,"date":"2022-11-16T11:37:02","date_gmt":"2022-11-16T11:37:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/11\/16\/franklin-cudjoe-has-this-to-say-about-bawumia\/"},"modified":"2022-11-16T11:37:02","modified_gmt":"2022-11-16T11:37:02","slug":"franklin-cudjoe-has-this-to-say-about-bawumia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/11\/16\/franklin-cudjoe-has-this-to-say-about-bawumia\/","title":{"rendered":"Franklin Cudjoe has this to say about Bawumia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"636\" height=\"424\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Anas-Bawumia-and-Charles-Adu-Boahen.jpeg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"Anas Bawumia and Charles Adu Boahen\"\/><\/div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"300\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" allow=\"autoplay\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/1383558562&#038;color=%23ff5500&#038;auto_play=false&#038;hide_related=false&#038;show_comments=true&#038;show_user=true&#038;show_reposts=false&#038;show_teaser=true&#038;visual=true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Founding President and Chief Executive Officer of IMANI Centre for Policy and Education, Franklin Cudjoe, has mounted a spirited defence for Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Cudjoe believes Dr Bawumia is not the kind of person interested in anyone pushing deals for him.<\/p>\n<p>This is in connection with Tiger Eye P.I\u2019s latest documentary in which former Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Charles Adu-Boahen, allegedly engaged in influence peddling and used Dr Bawumia\u2019s name to cut deals.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>The video captured Mr Adu Boahen asking an investor to pay an appearance fee of $200,000 to enable a meeting between him and Dr Bawumia.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Adu Boahen also allegedly asked the undercover investor to give Dr Bawumia the promise of employing some of his relatives to accelerate his investment.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to the documentary which has been met with mixed reactions, Mr Cudjoe on Adom FM\u2019s <strong>Dwaso Nsem<\/strong> stated the embattled Minister only engaged in grandstanding.<\/p>\n<p>Admitting Mr Adu Boahen could have delivered on the promises he gave in the video, he noted he shouldn\u2019t have done so.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou don\u2019t have to over-promise. This is what the situation is, in making fantastic claims to entice the person you are dealing with, you end up ruining the reputation of people who may not even be involved because I don\u2019t think Bawumia will be interested in anyone pushing deals for him,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>To him, the Minister\u2019s posture was nothing short of excitement to broker the investment deal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBawumia has not ever been involved in any corruption per se. There are so many things he is associated with including the challenges of the economy but I don\u2019t think this is one of them.
