<\/div>\nVice President Bawumia<\/strong><\/p>\n Vice President Bawumia has denid taking any supposed \u2018appearance fee\u2019 before he can be seen.<\/p>\n It follows an expos\u00e9 by journalist Anas Ameyaw Anas and his Tiger Eye PI which puts the Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, Charles Adu Boahen as a corrupt person after being said to have demanded to arrange a meeting for undercover agents to meet Vice President Bawumia unbeknownst to him.<\/p>\n He was said to have suggested that one needed just Ahead of his public viewing of the said documentary, Anas posted on his Facebook timeline stated that when his Tiger Eye Pl team met with the Minister of State in charge of Finance in the United Arab Emirates, UAE, he stated, for the Vice President to avail himself to the undercover investigators who posed as investors, he will need an appearance fee of only USD 200,000 and also support their investment.<\/p>\n But in a statement on his Facebook wall a while ago, Dr Bawumia \u201cmy attention has been drawn to a video by Anas Aremeyaw Anas (as posted on his social media handle) showing the Minister of State for Finance, Mr. Charles Adu Boahen, apparently using my name, inter alia, to peddle influence and collect money from supposed investors.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI would like to state that if what the minister is alleged to have said is accurately captured in the video, then his position as a minister of the state is untenable. He should be dismissed summarily and investigated,\u201d he insisted.<\/p>\n That, he said was because \u201cI am not aware of any such meeting held by Minister Adu Boahen or a supposed \u201cappearance fee\u201d.<\/p>\n Instead, the respected Vice President insisted \u201cmy most cherished asset in life is my integrity and I will not allow anyone to use my name to engage in corrupt activities.\u201d<\/p>\n Not too long thereafter, a statement emanated from the presidency, Jubilee House and signed by its Director of Communications, Eugene Arhin terminating the appointment of Charles Adu Boahen with immediate effect.<\/p>\n It said \u201cafter being made aware of the allegations levelled against the Minister in the expos\u00e9, \u201cGalamsey Economy\u201d, the President spoke to Mr. Adu Boahen, after which he took the decision to terminate his appointment.\u201d<\/p>\n The President is said to have since referred the matter to the Special Prosecutor for further investigations.<\/p>\n He however had to thank him for his supposed strong services to the government since his appointment in 2017, and wished him well in his future endeavours.<\/p>\n By Charles Takyi-Boadu, Presidential Correspondent<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Vice President Bawumia Vice President Bawumia has denid taking any supposed \u2018appearance fee\u2019 before he can be seen.
