The family of former President John Dramani Mahama has categorically refuted claims of having preferred candidates in the upcoming internal elections of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).<\/p>\n

A statement signed by Rafik Mahama, Secretary to the family, said \u201cno member of the family is aligned and supports any of the candidates as being alleged.\u201d<\/p>\n

He urged the general public and members of the NDC to disregard reports of the former President supporting some preferred candidates.<\/p>\n

\u201cJohn<\/span> Mahama<\/span> Family<\/span> has<\/span> no<\/span> preferred<\/span> candidates<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span> upcoming<\/span> NDC<\/span> Internal<\/span> Elections<\/span>.<\/span>
Reports<\/span> reaching<\/span> the<\/span> family<\/span> of<\/span> H.E.<\/span> John<\/span> Maha<\/span>ma<\/span> indicate<\/span> some<\/span> persons<\/span> associating<\/span> their<\/span> names<\/span>
with<\/span> certain<\/span> cand<\/span>i<\/span>dates<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span> upcoming<\/span> internal<\/span> elections<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> National<\/span> Democratic<\/span> Congress<\/span>
(NDC).\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFor<\/span> the<\/span> avoidance<\/span> of<\/span> doubt,<\/span> no<\/span> member<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> Maha<\/span>ma<\/span> family,<\/span> including<\/span> H.E<\/span> John<\/span> Mahama,<\/span> has<\/span>
any<\/span> preferred<\/span> candidates<\/span>.<\/span> The<\/span> family<\/span> has<\/span> absolute<\/span> belief<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span> ability<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> party\u2019s<\/span> delegates<\/span> to<\/span>
elect,<\/span> out<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> party\u2019s<\/span> rich<\/span> pool<\/span> of<\/span> qualified<\/span> candidates<\/span>,<\/span> the<\/span> best<\/span> candidates<\/span> to<\/span> serve<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span>
various<\/span> positions<\/span> being<\/span> contested<\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The NDC will from Friday, November 11, 2022, begin its regional election conferences nationwide.<\/p>\n

The exercise will end on Sunday, November 13, 2022. The party wants delegates to fully abide by all laid down rules outlined.<\/p>\n

NDC delegates in the Greater Accra Region will vote for the positions of youth organizer and women organizer at the Du Bois Memorial Center today.<\/p>\n

The elections will continue on Sunday at the Tema Sports complex where delegates will elect a new Chairman, Secretary, and Organizer among others for the Greater Accra Region.<\/p>\n
