{"id":1248571,"date":"2022-11-11T03:55:27","date_gmt":"2022-11-11T03:55:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/11\/11\/parliament-forms-ad-hoc-committee-to-probe-minoritys-allegations-against-ken-ofori-atta\/"},"modified":"2022-11-11T03:55:27","modified_gmt":"2022-11-11T03:55:27","slug":"parliament-forms-ad-hoc-committee-to-probe-minoritys-allegations-against-ken-ofori-atta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/11\/11\/parliament-forms-ad-hoc-committee-to-probe-minoritys-allegations-against-ken-ofori-atta\/","title":{"rendered":"Parliament forms ad-hoc committee to probe Minority\u2019s allegations against Ken Ofori-Atta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/oforiatta-min.png\" alt=\"Parliament forms ad-hoc committee to probe Minority\u2019s allegations against Ken Ofori-Atta\" class=\"data-control-id-830810 bd-imagestyles-7\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\nParliament forms ad-hoc committee to probe Minority\u2019s allegations against Ken Ofori-Atta <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-editable-id=\"article-175444\">\n<h2>Parliament has formed an Ad-hoc Committee to allow the Finance Minister, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta to respond to allegations levelled against him in a vote of censure motion tabled by the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu.<\/h2>\n<p>Already the Majority side has indicated not to support the vote of censure motion.<\/p>\n<p>Related:\u00a0We will not support motion on vote of censure for #KenMustGo<\/p>\n<p>The committee has seven days to report back to the House.<\/p>\n<p>The formation of the Ad-hoc committee is to give the Finance Minister, an opportunity to respond to the allegations leveled against him in the vote of censure motion.<\/p>\n<p>The Speaker, Alban Bagbin ruled for the formation of the ad hoc committee to allow the minister to appear before it possibly with his lawyer to defend himself.<\/p>\n<p>According to the speaker, a lawyer\/counsel for the minister is not allowed to perform his duty on the floor of the house unless at the committee level.<\/p>\n<p>It is based on the outcome of the committee&#8217;s report that a decision would be taken.<\/p>\n<p>This was after the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu earlier moved the motion on vote of censure against the Minister.<\/p>\n<p>The Deputy Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin raised a preliminary objection against the motion.<\/p>\n<div class=\"inread\" align=\"center\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/mdundo.com\/widget_song\/2107957\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"125\" width=\"300\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/uT5R4nnA_o.png\" alt=\"Get New DJ Mixes\"\/>\n<\/div>\n<p>This was followed with responses from both sides.
