{"id":1247592,"date":"2022-11-09T19:18:06","date_gmt":"2022-11-09T19:18:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/11\/09\/inflation-rate-rises-to-40-4-per-cent-in-october\/"},"modified":"2022-11-09T19:18:06","modified_gmt":"2022-11-09T19:18:06","slug":"inflation-rate-rises-to-40-4-per-cent-in-october","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/11\/09\/inflation-rate-rises-to-40-4-per-cent-in-october\/","title":{"rendered":"Inflation rate rises to 40.4 per cent in October"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Accra, Nov. 9, GNA \u2013 The year-on-year inflation rate rose to 40.4 per cent in October from 37.2 per cent in the previous month, the Ghana Statistical Service said on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The month-on-month inflation rate also rose to 2.7 per cent in October from 2.0 per cent in September\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Samuel Kobina Annim, the Government Statistician, said the Consumer\u202fPrice Inflation for October 2022 based on the new series was 144.4 relative to 102.9 for October 2021 using the linked series.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He said food inflation for October increased to 43.7 per cent from the previous month\u2019s food inflation of 37. 8 per cent with the month-on-month food inflation being 3.2 per cent.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The non-food Inflation rose to 37.8 per cent from 36.8 per cent from the previous month.
