The Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), Sulemana Braimah, has described President Akufo-Addo as Ghana\u2019s \u2018worst president\u2019.<\/p>\n
According to him, the posture of the President and his responses to the challenges of the country have been poor, hence his assertion.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the AM Show <\/strong>on Monday, Mr Braimah explained that the President\u2019s recent address failed to capture the relevant facts which have plundered the country\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n He said government\u2019s persistent love for propaganda instead of admitting the facts about the harsh realities of the economy, affirms his position about Akufo-Addo\u2019s bad leadership.<\/p>\n \u201cAt this stage, it\u2019s just fair to conclude that President Akufo-Addo has been the worst President we\u2019ve had; at least in my life time\u201d, he told host, Mapitso Sebidi.<\/p>\n The MFWA boss continued, \u201cI was growing up in the time of the Rawlings military era. And then I experienced him under civilian rule; President Kufuor, President Mills, President Mahama, and now him.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve read about previous governments that we\u2019ve had in the history of our country. And I think that President Akufo-Addo has proven to be the worst President that we\u2019ve had. In at least post independent Ghana\u201d.<\/p>\n Expressing his reservations about the current regime, he also criticised the President\u2019s inability to tackle issues such corruption and nepotism under his watch.<\/p>\n Mr Braimah said these ills have rather festered under President Akufo-Addo, in addition to his state capture and lack of policy credibility.<\/p>\n These criticisms come in the midst of widespread public outcry about the state of the economy and the failure of government to lessen the hardships of citizens.<\/p>\n These sentiments were expressed on Saturday when some angry protesters poured unto the streets of Accra to demonstrate against the ailing economy.<\/p>\n In their chants, the protesters urged the President to step down over his failure to honour his repeated promises of making the economy better.<\/p>\n In what was called the \u2018Ku Me Preko Reloaded\u2019 demonstration, protesters were clad in red and black outfits as they walked the streets in anger.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the Director of Communications of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Mr Richard Ahiagba, has berated the relevance of the protest.<\/p>\n According to him, the protest is only a democratic exercise, devoid of any substance.<\/p>\n Speaking on NewsFile <\/strong>on Saturday, he stressed that, the concerns of the protests are not novel; stating that the present economic challenges is only a reflection of the upsets in the global economy.<\/p>\n DISCLAIMER: <\/strong>The Views, Comments, Opinions, Contributions and Statements made by Readers and Contributors on this platform do not necessarily represent the views or policy of Multimedia Group Limited.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), Sulemana Braimah, has described President Akufo-Addo as Ghana\u2019s \u2018worst president\u2019.
