John Legend says \u201ca lot of people are concerned\u201d about Kanye West.<\/p>\n
The singer collaborated with the star on tracks for the albums \u201cThe College Dropout\u201d and \u201cGet Lifted\u201d but he\u2019s admitted they\u2019ve lost touch in recent years and fears the rapper may have changed as he struggled to cope following the death of his mother Donda West in 2007.<\/p>\n
When asked about West on New York Magazine\u2019s \u201cOn with Kara Swisher\u201d podcast, 43-year-old Legend explained: \u201cI do find him different than he was back then. <\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t see hints of this kind of harmful behaviour back then but, you know, I think life happens to people, and I think the death of his mother probably had something to do with this.\u201d<\/p>\n
Watch video:<\/strong><\/p>\n The \u201cAll Of Me\u201d star added: \u201cI don\u2019t want to play armchair psychologist, but he\u2019s definitely changed, and a lot of us who have known him over the years are really concerned about it.\u201d<\/p>\n When asked whether he\u2019s been trying to contact the \u201cStronger\u201d rapper recently, he replied: \u201cWell, I know people in his life who are, but we have lost touch. <\/p>\n \u201cWe haven\u2019t been friends for a while now, and so I\u2019m not personally doing anything, but I do know people who are, and a lot of people are concerned about him.\u201d<\/p>\n West hit headlines in recent weeks after promoting T-shirts emblazoned with the slogan \u201cWhite Lives Matter\u201d at Paris Fashion Week in France, while he was later booted off Twitter for making a series of anti-Semitic comments.<\/p>\n Later in the interview, Legend went on to condemn anti-Semitism but insisted there should always be \u201cplace for forgiveness\u201d.<\/p>\n He added: \u201cI believe that the forgiver needs to forgive, you know? Like it\u2019s better for you, the person that feels like they\u2019ve been harmed, to be able to forgive.<\/p>\n \u201cBecause if you can\u2019t do that, it\u2019s a weight on your life. And so I believe in forgiveness in general.
