Britney Spears has apologised to Alexa Nikolas for \u201ctraumatising\u201d her as a child.<\/p>\n
The 40-year-old pop star is thought to have confronted former child star Nikolas, 30, when she starred alongside her younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears on the 2000s teen comedy \u201cZoey 101\u201d and took to Twitter on Thursday to explain herself hours after Nikolas herself had recounted the experience in an interview.<\/p>\n
Spears tweeted: \u201cIt broke my heart to see your interview about your experience in the business \u2026 Hollywood is a place of dreams but let\u2019s be honest \u2026 on rare occasions do people come out years later and share the dark side !!! <\/p>\n
\u201cThere are thousands of people with broken dreams and I am absolutely in awe of you raising awareness for the next generation on how to be protected \u2026 the one thing you said you wish you could have told your younger self is that you wish you could have known you could have just walked away !!! <\/p>\n
\u201cCountless times I did the same thing and I took the abuse \u2026 it\u2019s nice to know I\u2019m not the only one who has felt that way \u2026 I know it\u2019s 15 years later what you are sharing but trust me \u2026 I know it still matters !!!<\/p>\n

Seriously I\u2019m crying. Thank you. SO much. This type of kindness right now is making me melt. You deserve the best in this world.
