Mark Strong has joined the cast of \u201cThe Silent Hour\u201d.<\/p>\n
The 59-year-old star will feature alongside Joel Kinnaman in the action thriller that is being directed by Brad Anderson.<\/p>\n
The crime drama will be set in Boston and will see Kinnaman star as a police detective who suffers a workplace accident that leaves him with impaired hearing.<\/p>\n
16 months later \u2013 as an interpreter for the police department \u2013 he and his partner (Strong) battle a team of corrupt officers trying to eliminate a deaf murder witness in an apartment building.<\/p>\n
The script has been written by Dan Hall and production is due to begin in early 2023.<\/p>\n
Stuart Ford\u2019s ACG Studios are to finance and produce the film with Eric Paquette\u2019s Meridan Pictures.<\/p>\n
Watch video:<\/strong><\/p>\n Strong previously revealed that he missed out on the chance to play a James Bond villain after a boozy night with future 007 Daniel Craig \u2013 who he starred alongside in the TV series \u2018Our Friends in the North\u2019.<\/p>\n The \u201cShazam!\u201d star recalled: \u201cI was up for a villain in one of the Pierce Brosnan films \u2013 I can\u2019t remember which \u2013 and I had learnt my lines.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I was quite cocky about that. Because when I started out auditioning, you didn\u2019t learn your lines, you just read them with the director.<\/p>\n \u201cBut the night before, I went out for a drink with Danny \u2013 this was way before he was Bond. And unfortunately, I had a bit too much to drink.\u201d<\/p>\n Strong appeared alongside George Clooney in the 2005 film \u201cSyriana\u201d and explained that he was terrified of unleashing violence on the Hollywood star, who ended up hurting his back in the scene.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cThere was a great responsibility attached to it and he actually did his back in when he chose to fall into shot still tied to the chair.<\/p>\n \u201cI met him years later, thinking I\u2019d been responsible, but he absolved me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Mark Strong has joined the cast of \u201cThe Silent Hour\u201d.
