That fuel arrangement can be linked between the transport operators and maybe some selected OMCs, so that they pick some quantum of products at certain discounted rate.<\/p>\n<p>And if we are all going to be honest about such processes, it will ensure that some of burden is taken over from the ordinary man on the the streets who is moving with his trotro or going to use a passenger car,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"300\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" allow=\"autoplay\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/1375607041&#038;color=%23ff5500&#038;auto_play=false&#038;hide_related=false&#038;show_comments=true&#038;show_user=true&#038;show_reposts=false&#038;show_teaser=true&#038;visual=true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>He also proposed that other public transportation systems, such as rail systems, be made more efficient in order to help passengers suffering as a result of fuel price increment.<\/p>\n<p>His suggestion is in relation to the current increase in petroleum products across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Petrol and diesel prices have risen to an average of GHC18 and GHC23 per litre, respectively, from GHC15 and GHC19 previously.<\/p>\n<p>At the moment, the global price of crude oil is relatively stable, selling at $94 per barrel.<\/p>\n<p>Also, some frustrated transport operators in the Greater Accra Region have pledged to review their prices anytime there are fuel increments in the country.<\/p>\n<p>According to them, they will not wait on the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) to engage with government on the upward adjustment percentage.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-myjoyonline-com wp-block-embed-myjoyonline-com\"\/>\n<p>Speaking to Accra-based TV3, one driver argued that, Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) don\u2019t give any announcement prior to the increment of fuel, thus, drivers don\u2019t need to alert government about their transport fares as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wake up and petrol and diesel prices have been increased. Do the operators announce their decision to increase it? So why should we inform government about our decision to increase transport fares?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNowadays, we will just make things simple.
