Do the operators announce their decision to increase it? So why should we inform government about our decision to increase transport fares?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNowadays, we will just make things simple. If we go to the filling stations and fuel prices have increased, we will just increase our fares as well,\u201d one angry driver told the journalist.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Transport fares have gone up again after Saturday&#8217;s 19% increase. <\/p>\n<p>Some commercial drivers say they will no longer await directives from their leaders but will effect changes anytime fuel prices go up at the pumps.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/TV3NewDay?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#TV3NewDay<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/nw2nlPsuxi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pic.twitter.com\/nw2nlPsuxi<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 #TV3@25 (@tv3_ghana) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tv3_ghana\/status\/1588073119914156032?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">November 3, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>This comes after the Concerned Drivers Association increased transport fares for the second time in two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Drivers on Saturday, October 29, started the implementation of the 19% increment in transport fares. At the time a litre of diesel and petrol was sold at \u00a215.99 and \u00a213.99.<\/p>\n<p>A litre of diesel now sells at \u00a223.49 and petrol sits at \u00a217.99.<\/p>\n<p>This has forced drivers to unilaterally increase transport fares again without any consultation with government.<\/p>\n<p>The drivers bemoaned the state of the economy. Describing it as terrible, one driver asked, \u201cWhere are we going?
