Takeoff has been shot dead at the age of 28.<\/p>\n

The rap star \u2013 whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball \u2013 was known for creating hits such as \u2018Versace\u2019 and \u2018Bad and Boujee\u2019 alongside his uncle Quavo and cousin Offset as part of hip-hop group Migos but was killed following an \u201caltercation\u201d at the 810 Billiards and Bowling in Houston, Texas, during the early hours of Tuesday morning, TMZ has confirmed.<\/p>\n

A source told the outlet: \u201cTakeoff<\/a> and Quavo were there playing dice when an altercation broke out and that\u2019s when someone opened fire, shooting Takeoff either in the head or near his head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n

TMZ went on to report that two others were shot at the scene and have been hospitalised, although their conditions remain unclear but it confirmed that Quavo escaped the incident without injury.<\/p>\n

Just hours before the incident, Takeoff \u2013 who is said to have been single and does not leave behind any children \u2013 posted a selfie on Instagram from the bowling alley and prior to that had been seen in a video driving around with Jas Prince as the pair celebrated the music executive\u2019s birthday. <\/p>\n

Following the tragic news, several famous faces took to social media to pay their respects to the \u201cLast Memory\u201d hitmaker.<\/p>\n

Boxer Chris Eubank jr tweeted: \u201cI remember Takeoff being a very down-to-earth, cool dude. Can\u2019t believe I\u2019m having to say this again about another young black star being killed for no reason, something really has to change in the industry\u201c, while hip-hop artist Juice Wayne wrote: \u201dIt\u2019ll never make sense, Never ever. Rest in Peace. Prayers to the family of the fallen.\u201c<\/p>\n
