{"id":1240293,"date":"2022-11-01T07:37:47","date_gmt":"2022-11-01T07:37:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/11\/01\/over-450-stranded-ghanaians-repatriated-from-uae\/"},"modified":"2022-11-01T07:37:47","modified_gmt":"2022-11-01T07:37:47","slug":"over-450-stranded-ghanaians-repatriated-from-uae","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/11\/01\/over-450-stranded-ghanaians-repatriated-from-uae\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 450 stranded Ghanaians repatriated from UAE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The government says it has repatriated over 450 Ghanaians stranded in the United Arab Emirates in August this year.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in a press release said the stranded persons \u201cwere misled by unscrupulous agents who promised non-existent jobs in Dubai and other parts of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The government said 80 victims were flown back into Ghana with the support of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity establishment in Dubai and other benevolent individuals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdditionally, 20 Ghanaians were evacuated with the support of an individual and friend of the Government of Ghana, Mr. Abdul Rarsak-Daheer in September 2022, on board Egypt Air,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<p>The government also reiterated the ban on direct-to-home recruitment of Ghanaian labour migrants to homes in the Gulf states remains in force until further notice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ban, however, does not affect the lawful recruitment of skilled workers (non-domestic house helps) to the Gulf States,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Ministry advises travelling Ghanaians to desist from embarking on journeys via illegal routes to various parts of the world, since this almost always has an unfortunate outcome.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-890498\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-10-31-at-7.30.39-PM.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"760\" height=\"1080\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The government says it has repatriated over 450 Ghanaians stranded in the United Arab Emirates in August this year.
