King Charles is advertising for a \u00a340 000-a-year (about R8.4 million) gardens manager.<\/p>\n
Based at Buckingham Palace, the role is 39 hours a week and the perfect candidate must be \u201cpassionate about plants\u201d, according to an advert revealed by the Mail Online on Monday night.<\/p>\n
The ad on the royal website says: \u201cAs gardens manager, you\u2019ll be responsible for the maintenance and presentation of the Buckingham Palace Gardens to an exceptional standard.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019ll take pride in watching thousands of people enjoying them at garden parties.\u201d<\/p>\n
The manager will care for gardens that \u201cthousands will admire\u201d and offers the chance to work for a \u201cworld-famous institution\u201d.<\/p>\n
Applicants have also been told they will be \u201cinstrumental\u201d in \u201cshaping the future\u201d of the royal gardens, with the role also involving lawn maintenance and the caring for shrub, herbaceous and rose borders.<\/p>\n
A \u00a338 000-a-year gardens and nursery manager is also being recruited for Windsor Castle, with the same November 3 closing date for applications.<\/p>\n
An ad for the role says: \u201cAs gardens manager, you\u2019ll be responsible for the maintenance and presentation of Windsor Castle gardens and grounds and the management of an operational nursery\u2026 with a commitment to horticulture, you\u2019ll be focused on delivering our Garden Conservation Plans as well as leading on new, specialist projects to conserve and enhance our gardens rich biodiversity.\u201d<\/p>\n
The adverts follow reports Charles wants a slimmed-down coronation as part of his plan to offer Britain a \u201cvalue for money\u201d monarchy.<\/p>\n
