San Francisco \u2013 Former US president Donald Trump has hailed Elon Musk for acquiring Twitter for $44 billion (R806.7), saying the micro-blogging platform is now in \u201csane hands\u201d.<\/p>\n
He, however, did not reveal on his own social media platform called \u201cTruth Social\u201d that he wishes to make a comeback on the platform, which banned him after the Capitol Hill riots in January 2021.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am very happy that Twitter is now in sane hands, and will no longer be run by Radical Left Lunatics and Maniacs that truly hate our country,\u201d Trump said in a post.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Fox News Digital on Friday, he said: \u201cI like Elon and I wish him a lot of luck. I hope he does well with it.\u201d<\/p>\n
However, the 76-year-old real estate magnate added that: \u201cI don\u2019t think Twitter can be successful without me.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cChief Twit\u201d Musk has said that he will reinstate Trump\u2019s account on Twitter and has announced forming a content moderation council for such decisions.<\/p>\n Trump has over four million users on Truth Social, which he founded in October, last year.<\/p>\n Truth Social resurfaced on Google Play Store earlier this month after the tech giant banned it in August over failing to meet its policies.<\/p>\n The platform agreed to enforce the content moderation measures on users.<\/p>\n It is now available to more than 44% of smartphone users in the US who are on Android.<\/p>\n Musk called the Truth Social app as a \u201cTrumpet\u201d of \u201cright-wing echo chamber\u201d.<\/p>\n The Tesla CEO said he bought Twitter to avoid the site becoming a counterpart to Truth Social.<\/p>\n IANS<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" San Francisco \u2013 Former US president Donald Trump has hailed Elon Musk for acquiring Twitter for $44 billion (R806.7), saying the micro-blogging platform is now in \u201csane hands\u201d.
