{"id":1239147,"date":"2022-10-31T06:44:11","date_gmt":"2022-10-31T06:44:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/31\/dental-and-medical-council-urges-doctors-to-remain-in-ghana\/"},"modified":"2022-10-31T06:44:11","modified_gmt":"2022-10-31T06:44:11","slug":"dental-and-medical-council-urges-doctors-to-remain-in-ghana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/31\/dental-and-medical-council-urges-doctors-to-remain-in-ghana\/","title":{"rendered":"Dental and Medical Council urges doctors to remain in Ghana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Dental and Medical Council has called on Health professionals not to seek greener pastures abroad as the country is losing health professionals.<\/p>\n<p>This call was made at the induction of newly qualified Medical and Dental practitioners.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking as the chairperson of the induction ceremony, Member of the Dental and Medical Council, Dr. Constance Addo-Yobo, who acknowledged this phenomenon, pleaded with the newly inducted health professionals not to seek greener pastures abroad to the detriment of the health sector in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Addo-Yobo also urged doctors to make sacrifices within the country too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease accept postings to the regions and the districts outside Accra and Kumasi. You will learn a lot there,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlso, do not be tempted to look for greener pastures in places like the UK and other countries, like some of your colleagues are already doing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet us halt this brain drain.
